Polyurethane topcoat with low heat absorption
COOLBLACK topcoat is a “cold” finishing paint with low heat absorption. Thanks to its special pigments, heat absorption can be reduced by up to 35% compared to a classic black topcoat . This improves the protection time of black composite structures (carbon, fibreglass, etc.) and limits the negative effects of post-curing. In addition, black sailboats will also benefit from better insulation and a cooler atmosphere in the cabin, reducing the need for air conditioning.
COOLBLACK is an innovative product, designed by Nautix following a request from an offshore racing team. The complete system includes the U2 white epoxy undercoat combined with the COOLBLACK black polyurethane topcoat.
Nautix produces COOLBLACK topcoat in Europe.
